Lending for Learning
Artemis is part of ArtForms, the Music and Arts Initiative section of the School Improvement Service.
Model of a Bowtop Vardo
It houses and develops a wide- ranging collection of over 10,000 items to support teaching and learning in the classroom. The collection includes historical and natural history items, a variety of artifacts from around the world, paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles and even chairs.
The service has been working in partnership with Travellers Education to collect a representative range of artifacts and to develop Loan Boxes illustrating the home-life and crafts of Gypsies and Travellers.
These can be loaned to Leeds schools free of charge from Artemis. For further details please telephone Artemis on 0113 2440497 or look at the website, which can be accessed through Infobase Schools (Leeds only unfortunately).
