Bookstart is a national scheme offering free books to every child and advice to every parent. It encourages parents and carers to share books with children from a very early age.
The Children’s Project runs play and recreational activities for Gypsy and Traveller Children in Leeds aged 5 - 13 years.
The key aims of the Children's Project is to improve health related (social, physical or mental) opportunities for disadvantages children and young people in disadvantaged communities in South Leeds. It does this by reaching out to children and young people usually excluded from provision and to establish sustainable provision for these children and young people by forming groups, networks, opportunities, activities and to provide signposting that will in turn enable the children within the groups to develop self-confidence and self-esteem through a variety of mediums.
The Travellers Funhouse runs each Monday evening (term time only), 4pm - 5.30pm at the United Free Church Hall in Beeston. This play session is open to children aged 5 - 10 years.

We have also run group sessions for the Young People where we carried out various activities that they were interested in such as Sewing, Cookery, Jewellery design etc. This also involved taking the Young People to the Theatre, Kirkstall Abbey, Bowling, Climbing etc.
