This is Liberty’s website which aims to provide support to individuals and organisations who wish to understand and enforce their rights under the Human Rights Act 1998.
There are pages that deal with the rights of Gypsies and Travellers. Much of the information focuses on planning matters and the use of land for caravan sites, as such sites are a central component of the Gypsy and Traveller lifestyle. There are also sections covering the enforcement of planning laws and the use of powers to remove Gypsies and Travellers from sites.
There are sections on access to education and healthcare, as Gypsies and Travellers often have difficulty in accessing these services for a number of reasons, and the Chapter also deals with issues of discrimination and human rights.
